Maria Stathos
Community Health Worker II, Sacramento Office
Maria Stathos was born and raised in Sacramento before moving to Humboldt County to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, where she ended up living for nearly eight years. During that time, she worked as a Community Health Outreach Worker for the County Public Health Department’s Nurse Family Partnership program. That role sparked a lasting passion for community health work, supporting underserved members of her community and building strong relationships with local resource providers.
As a Community Health Worker II, Maria supports CCAC’s CARES program by conducting in-home visits, completing health and home assessments, and providing asthma education. She helps families create practical plans to reduce asthma triggers at home and connects them with the care and resources they need to breathe easier.
Maria is excited to bring her passion and skills to the CARES team and play a role in supporting the health and goals of community members living with asthma.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys playing volleyball, embroidery and macrame, and spending time with her dog, Taz.
