Carolina Simunovic, MD

Physician, Dermatology, Kaiser Permanente Fresno

Carolina Simunovic was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to the United States as a young child. She grew up in Fresno and attended Edison High School. Carolina then completed her undergraduate work at Brown University where she studied Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies.

After college, Carolina took to heart the slogan, “think globally and act locally.” She returned to Fresno where she worked for several years on the issues of clean air and environmental justice. Carolina had the opportunity to work alongside amazing colleagues and advocates trying to address the unique issues affecting the Valley to improve the community’s health. This work shaped the person and physician she is today.

Carolina had always wanted to become a doctor and was thrilled to be offered acceptance to the University of Washington School of Medicine class of 2012. She continued her medical training at the University of Washington by completing an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Dermatology.
