Aurora Chavez-Pina
Climate Solutions Navigator I
Aurora Chavez-Pina is a Climate Solutions Navigator I at CCAC. A Visalia native with a passion for conservation and sustainability, Aurora knows firsthand how important it is to provide support and resources for low-income communities, especially children.
While attending College of the Sequoias, Aurora worked as a Program Leader for Pro-Youth HEART, where she ran an after-school gardening and recycling club. She also used her bilingual skills to tutor migrant students through the California Mini-Corps program. These experiences inspired her to pursue a career in education, and after earning her B.A. in Liberal Studies from Fresno State, she taught in school districts across Tulare and Fresno Counties. In the classroom, she developed a passion for community engagement, outreach, and supporting students and families beyond academics. She later joined the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, where she supported Special Education programs and services.
At CCAC, Aurora is excited to make a meaningful difference in the communities that helped raise her. She looks forward to educating and empowering residents on environmental justice issues like air quality, and helping families who might not otherwise have the resources transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Outside of work, Aurora enjoys road trips and camping with her dog, crafting, reading, cooking, and watching movies. She regularly volunteers with organizations such as Sequoia Riverlands Trust, Latino Outdoors, and Underdog Adventures, where she helps promote dog adoptions and responsible pet ownership.
